Monica is…crazy for komodo.

never giving up a chance to try new flavors, i ventured in search of the komodo food truck (travelchannel.com’s jennifer auvil named them one of the top 12 trucks out there), which was parked on the miracle mile stretch during lunch time. known for their yummy fish & grape tacos (yes, the combination of the two is amazingly fitting)  & truffle fries, i had to join the line of die-hard regulars waiting to chomp on their faves. food trucks are such a craze in la, but these fries were so delicious that i’d stalk this portable restaurant anywhere. i think i may need to drench everything i eat in truffle oil…

Oh breakfast…i love you.

Anyone who knows me well or reads this blog on a regular basis, knows I am a breakfast junkie. If I could I would eat it every single moment of the day. On my travels, I recently discovered La Dijonaise, a delicious French cafe with killer breakfast specials. It’s in the heart of the Culver City/Helms district & I’m disappointed I didn’t find this place sooner! (plus it’s right by the amazingly drool-worthy Room & Board store) The restaurant is light and airy & has an amazing selection of French pastries to enjoy with your yummy cup of coffee. Since discovering this little food haven, I’ve eaten here an obscene amount of times.  It’s won me over with it’s filling omelets & tasty savory crepes! Another reason to love breakfast… 8703 Washington Boulevard, Culver City California 90232 tel: (310) 287-2770

Monica is…drenched with color.

It has been weeks since I had the whole weekend off & I was due for some much needed sight seeing. After having breakfast, I decided to soak up the sun & visit Placita Olvera. Years had flown by since my last visit to this Los Angeles landmark & wondered if anything had changed. To my surprise, everything was just as I remembered it; buzzing with people, great food & music from the mariachi bands. I inhaled delicious taquitos from a local stand & loved exploring the countless little shops filled with artifacts. The colors were so vibrant & pure, I instantly picked up many decorating ideas for my apartment & can’t wait to execute them soon!
