it’s been far too long since i’ve blogged! I suppose sometimes life literally gets in the way, but i’m excited to start running around la & snapping shots! one thing i love about instagram is how easily you can share a moment even if you can’t sit down for a post. (love the ease!) moving on, i recently found myself inheriting more apt space since some living changes occurred (bff moved out, but it’s all good!). its exciting, but also daunting. what do i do with all this other space? wanting ideas & inspiration, i headed to culver city to visit the helms bakery district, for h.d. buttercup & room & board. i love that soo many elements live under one roof & that i always find new ways to re-visit my space!

Monica is…soaking it up!
So, I discovered Design*Sponge not too long ago, but I can honestly say I’m hooked! I love the overall look of the site perhaps because it reminds me of the now defunct Domino Magazine & Blueprint. It has the best ideas, great uses of vintage or found items & the best part is that I get a fix just about everyday! Although, I still flip through my old magazines, this site keeps me inspired & hopeful about making the place you live in just a lot more livable. Here are some of my favorite shots…Wishlist* I happened to find this bath mat & these gorgeous towels on Anthro…

Samantha Pynn from Pure Design
As much as I love fashion I also love interior design. Along with my fashion magazines there is always a stack of design mags peeking from underneath. There’s nothing like watching HGTV & scanning pictures for inspiration & neat quick fix tips to trick out my “shabby” little apartment. For being my first place, its really not that bad. (except for the crappy motel & its interesting & god-awful guests) It has beautiful coved celings and a small galley style layout perfect for 2 people. I just started catching the show Pure Design on HGTV, hosted by Samantha Pynn. Her show is fresh & has a keen eye on a simple modern esthetic (working on Canada’s Style at Home Magazine helps!), but what I really enjoy is her many wardrobe changes throughout the show… Samantha’s cute tops, flirty dresses & design are just another reason to love her show. Here some of my favorite looks both interior & her own.
