#locallyinspired | let’s do larchmont with domino magazine

i had such a great time working with domino magazine regarding their #locallyinspired series. i wanted to chose a part of los angeles that is relatively not on most peoples’ radar: larchmont village. enjoy the original tour here

revolutionario north african tacos

angelenos are very particular about their tacos. most have about 2-3 taco spots they frequent for different flavors, condiments, or late night bites. so when chef farid zadi opened his new restaurant revolutionario north african tacos near home (hey south la!), i had to try them. they were honestly some the best tacos, i’ve ever tried. the spice combo was unlike anything i’d had before, yet they had the familiar feeling of some of my favorite tacos. he even has a unique pickled goods bar where you can layer even more flavor atop the deliciously tender meats or grilled veggies. i’m sure to become a regular fan of these…

lamill coffee in silverlake…

i was recently invited to lamill coffee in silverlake,  to taste some of their new brunch fair & it was so delicious! i had a great time with friends & ended up staying for hours. I had forgotten how lovely the space was & can be for an intimate lunch or a late night snack.

los angeles has become the mecca for new coffee shops & navigating them all can be quite the challenge. luckily, patricia manlucu has created the cutest guide that is totally printable (yay PDF!) on her blog! i had to share this because she was kind enough to feature my shot of compañía de café in south gate. love this so much xx

if you live in los angeles, you know that finding a reliable/affordable hair & nail salon is quite a challenge. although there are tons to choose from (too many if you ask me) most of the time your trusted person, eventually moves or worse the salon closes down. so while heading down pico towards paper or plastik cafe for that afternoon perk, i spot the cutest curb appeal coming from enamel diction, who coincidentally i had discovered on instagram.

instant love affair created.

i met one of the lovely owners, mariana stanciu who along with australian design duo/color experts Tamara Sheeran & Sean Morrison created this safe haven. she cheerfully chatted me up about the salon’s inception & ultimate goals to brighten up this patch of pico real-estate. upon arrival, i notice all the lovely details: the bright skylight, comfy leather chairs, clean & inviting space, plus a collection of nail polish that one dreams of. (rgb, uslu airlines, you name it they have it) my experience was so relaxing & fun, that i never once felt the doom from terrible experiences of sub-par nail salons.

this is my new place. just like when i found my current hair salon, i want to scream it from the mountain tops & i wish them all the success in the world…
