Monica is…playing musical chairs.

I discovered these not long ago & there isn’t much to say other than there are amazing. Perhaps the most realistic way I will ever own any of these iconic designs. Each shrunken down to their exact scale from Eames to Mies, who wouldn’t want these modern minis sitting on their desk or mantel? Fun! Fun! Fun!——- Mini Designer Blind Box Chairs sold through poketo.com

Monica is…caught on a coastal break.

Aside from the usual obsessions I have (fashion, blah, blah), I love graphic design imagery. I think it’s one of the most interesting & complicated forms of art out there. When it’s good (because everyone wants to be an “artist”) it’s actually really beautiful. There is so much layering involved in just one image & quite frankly it’s mind blowing especially if your work is Scott Hansen’s. His images have that uncanny, sleepy vintage look that reminds me of Sofia Coppola’s Virgin Suicides haze. Piece after piece is stunning & rich with colors, pretty enough to framed. Bonus*— Scott makes music too, under the name Tycho & his song Coastal Break is the perfect anthem for driving on a typical LA day!

Monica is…making lists.

For me, making lists is a great way to organize my thoughts & goals. I’m a huge believer in writing things down & crossing things off as you complete tasks. There’s nothing more satisfying than seeing personal goals off your list dwindle down & there’s no better way to do this than in a stylish notebook or handy pad. I love Moleskine for their simplicity & design. I don’t need huge bells & whistles, just good organization that makes sense. So, naturally when I saw these colorful editions, my head filled with plenty of things to jot down in these superb journals! One, two, three…go!

such a great idea!

Monica is…soaking it up!

So, I discovered Design*Sponge not too long ago, but I can honestly say I’m hooked! I love the overall look of the site perhaps because it reminds me of the now defunct Domino Magazine & Blueprint. It has the best ideas, great uses of vintage or found items & the best part is that I get a fix just about everyday! Although, I still flip through my old magazines, this site keeps me inspired & hopeful about making the place you live in just a lot more livable. Here are some of my favorite shots…funroommodernorangetableWishlist* I happened to find this bath mat & these gorgeous towels on Anthro…

Monica is…a sucker for great packaging.

I am a lover of fancy packaging. I love when something that I use everyday looks pretty. It’s sort of shallow, but if it looks special then in a weird sort of way, I feel special. Life is hard enough as it is, and if something simple makes you smile then why not? Right? So, stumbling upon Help was such a fun find! Its a smart & edited company that takes ordinary first aid items and makes them easier to use and carry around. Way better than carrying like 100 things in your purse & if your like me, I tend to have a lot of mishaps at work. Sleek & discreet, the packaging is made from molded paper pulp & it’s bio-degradable! I love this! Wish I had thought of this!
